【Small Sunlight】
SmallSunlight は、奈良県宇陀市を中心に、
地元の提携農家さんが丁寧に育てた 旬の野菜・珍しい野菜 をお届けする通販ショップです。
有機肥料や栽培期間中農薬不使用で育てられた野菜を中心に、季節ごとの恵みを詰め合わせています。

■ 目指していること

私たちが大切にしているのは
「食べることが、世界をつなぐこと」だという想いです。

代表自身が国際結婚を経験した中で感じた、
日本に暮らす外国の方へのサービス不足—
その現実を少しでも和らげたい。

そして、
野菜を食べることを通じて文化を共有し合うこと。
それが SmallSunlight の根底にある価値です。

そのため、日本語だけでなく英語でも運営をしており、
英語対応のお問い合わせも可能です。

■ 代表紹介 — 食から始まった旅

大学卒業後、IT企業でシステムエンジニアとして勤務。
その後、国際結婚を機に子育てと仕事を両立する日々の中で、
「どうしたら子どもに“食に興味を持ってもらえるだろう？」
という想いが芽生えました。

そこで出会ったのが 野菜ソムリエの資格。
子どもに野菜のおいしさを伝えたいという気持ちから学び始めたことが、
SmallSunlight の原点になっています。

資格取得後は、自身の食への関心が深まり、
“家族に安心して食べさせたい野菜”を探し求める中で、
奈良の農家さんと出会い、やがてこのショップを立ち上げる決意へとつながりました。

■ どうして奈良の野菜なのか

奈良は、古くから都が置かれた歴史のある土地。
その土地には、京野菜と同じように受け継がれてきた「大和野菜」という伝統野菜があります。

長い時間をかけて守られてきた種。
土地の気候と土に合い、地域の食文化とともに育ってきた野菜たち。

SmallSunlightは、その存在をもっと知ってほしいと思っています。

昔から続く文化や知恵を、今の暮らしの中で未来へつないでいくこと。
それもまた、持続可能な取り組みのひとつだと考えています。

奈良の野菜を届けることは、ただ野菜を販売することではなく、
この土地の歴史や文化も一緒に届けること。

そんな想いで、奈良の野菜を選んでいます。

SmallSunlight is an online shop based in Uda City, Nara Prefecture, delivering seasonal and rare vegetables carefully cultivated by our local partner farmers.
We focus on vegetables grown using organic fertilisers and without pesticides during cultivation, packing each box with the bounty of each season.

■ Our Aim

What we hold dear is the belief that
‘Eating connects the world’.

Having experienced international marriage ourselves,
we felt a lack of services for foreigners living in Japan—
a reality we wish to alleviate, however slightly.

Furthermore,
sharing cultures through eating vegetables together.
This is the fundamental value at the heart of SmallSunlight.

Therefore, we operate not only in Japanese but also in English,
and can handle enquiries in English.

■ Founder Profile — A Journey Begun Through Food

After graduating university, I worked as a systems engineer at an IT company.
Later, following an international marriage, while balancing childcare and work,
the thought arose: ‘How can I get my child interested in food?’

This led me to discover the Vegetable Sommelier qualification.
What began as a desire to convey the deliciousness of vegetables to my child
became the origin of SmallSunlight.

After gaining the qualification, my own interest in food deepened.
While searching for vegetables I could confidently serve my family,
I met farmers in Nara, which eventually led to my decision to launch this shop.

■ Why Nara Vegetables?

Nara is a land steeped in history, having been the capital in ancient times.
This land nurtures traditional vegetables known as “Yamato Yasai” (Yamato Vegetables),
just like Kyoto's “Kyō Yasai” (Kyoto Vegetables).

Seeds preserved over long periods.
Vegetables suited to the local climate and soil, cultivated alongside the region's food culture.

SmallSunlight wishes to raise awareness of their existence.

Connecting enduring traditions and wisdom to the present, and onward to the future.
We believe this too is part of a sustainable approach.

Delivering Nara vegetables is not merely selling produce;
it is delivering the history and culture of this land alongside them.

It is with this sentiment that we select Nara's vegetables.
